Responsibilities

The Procurement Specialist is a critical member of the Supply Chain team, responsible for the procurement and ongoing management of direct materials to support production and customer requirements. This role balances cost, quality, delivery, and service while partnering closely with Category Management, Production, Scheduling, and other cross‑functional stakeholders.

The successful candidate is a proactive procurement professional with a strong continuous improvement mindset, capable of driving operational excellence through collaboration, data analysis, and supplier partnership.

Key Responsibilities

  • Execute direct material procurement strategies by placing, maintaining, and managing purchase orders to support production and customer demand.
  • Collaborate with suppliers and internal stakeholders to address quality issues and facilitate timely corrective actions.
  • Proactively communicate supply trends, risks, and opportunities—including improvements or deteriorations—to Category Managers, plant leadership, and procurement peers.
  • Partner with Category Managers to strengthen supplier relationships, drive on‑time delivery performance, and ensure continuity of supply.
  • Resolve invoice and pricing discrepancies to ensure timely supplier payment and adherence to agreed terms.
  • Support network‑wide inventory optimization by identifying internal transfer opportunities, initiating movements, and tracking execution.
  • Identify, implement, and sustain procurement and supply chain best practices through standard work and documentation.
  • Collect, analyze, and support reporting of key performance indicators (KPIs) to enable data‑driven decision‑making.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and 5+ years of related experience.
  • Experience in procurement, purchasing, or supply chain functions preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to work cross‑functionally in a fast‑paced, operational environment.

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across functions.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and comfort working with data and reporting tools.
  • Continuous improvement mindset with the ability to challenge the status quo.
  • Effective multitasking and prioritization skills in a dynamic environment.
  • Negotiation and problem‑solving skills grounded in sound judgment and decision‑making.
  • Team‑oriented approach that values partnership, inclusivity, and shared success.

Physical & Travel Requirements

  • Ability to travel as needed to support suppliers, plants, or business initiatives.
