Responsibilities

Summary:                                         

Manages the day to day purchasing and receiving of parts for our Findlay machine tool operation’s (MTO) equipment builds and consumable supplies. Works closely with production manager, production shift supervisor, and central parts manager.

 

Primary Job Responsibilities:

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Review project / job parts list or BOM’s.
  • Provide status & costs of received parts on jobs and projects.
  • Request quotes for project / job parts list from preferred vendors and order items.
  • Support UPS shipping and receiving.

o   Order items for plant floor (consumables, safety items, fasteners).

o   Manage monthly Grainger account.

  • Provide order acknowledgement & ETA on parts.
  • Purchases and maintains supplies for MTO.
  • Generate purchase orders through Oracle.

o   Work with accounting employees to have items received and close purchase orders.

 

Job Skills:

This position should possess the following skills/knowledge:

  • Knowledge working with Oracle ERP software or other types of CMMS software.
  • Reading & understanding of BOMs.
  • Good organization skills.
  • Good Communication skills to work with vendors, engineers, plant personnel & colleagues.

 

 

 Educational Requirements:

 

  • High School Education.

 

 

 

 

 

Preferred Experience:

 

  • Purchasing Agent / Parts Management
  • Administrative / clerical task

 

  • 1-2+ years
  • Oracle experience

 

 Physical Requirements:

 

  • Walk, bend, lifting (50lbs), kneeling & sitting.
